Pay range: $70.00 – 85.00 p/h inc super
About the role:
The APS6 Cyber Security Specialist is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.
The position is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
Duties
- Assessing the cyber security position of external stakeholders to the Agency and providing advice internally to mitigate risks.
- Assessing the cyber security capability of systems, applications and solutions utilised by the Agency and its stakeholders
- Providing advice and completing work, ensuring the Agency meets all legal and regulatory for Agency Information Technology security, including remaining up to date with amendments to the Information Security Manual and Protective Security Policy Framework
- Consulting, writing and overseeing the creation of policies and procedures
- Providing advice and guidance on cyber trends, most likely and dangerous threats, applicable security controls and standards
Required experience/skills
- Experience with Australian Government governance concepts with a focus on ICT, policy/standards development, documentation of frameworks, and assisting in the reporting to Senior Executive.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to mentor and provide expertise within a team environment and engage with internal/external stakeholders confidently
