Payroll Manager [Portugal]


 

BRIDGE IN is an exciting startup, operating in the legal/tax/HR space, with a fantastic growth of 500% in 2022.

We are now looking for a talented and driven Payroll Manager and HR Administrator to help us improve our Payroll and HR operations, enable the continued growth of the business, and support our global customers. This role sits at the heart of customer operations service and will work alongside our Finance Manager and Chartered Accountant.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain payroll records: new hires, leavers, and contractual changes
  • Ensure employee trust and the confidentiality of payroll operations
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding activities
  • Support employee and customer queries relating to payroll and HR matters
  • Help ensure compliance with local labor legislation, regarding tax and social security
  • Manage employee leaves and absences
  • Maintain the benefits plan and expense reimbursement procedure
  • Liaise with required 3rd providers, such as benefits providers and insurance brokers
  • Support required reconciliations with the Finance Team, the maintenance of audit procedures, and control reports
  • Define and optimize processes to prepare for the company's further scaling

Requirements

  • Based in Portugal (or willing to relocate)
  • Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or similar
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience with at least 3 years in Portuguese payroll and HR administration
  • Great English and Portuguese oral and written communication skills
  • Experience interfacing with customers
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Be deliberate, thorough, and rigorous when executing assignments
  • Proficient with corporate productivity tools, including email and spreadsheets
  • Ability to self-manage by prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively
  • A can-do attitude and a team-first player

Nice to have

  • International experience either on a personal or professional level
  • Experience supporting payroll operations in Portugal for foreign companies
  • Previous experience in a consulting business
  • Previous experience in a fast-growing business
  • Knowledge of Portuguese labor law, financial and tax system, as well as accounting processes
