Keystone Advisors is looking for a Patient Accounts Representative to join our team in Chicago, IL supporting one of our healthcare clients in the Illinois Medical District.
The Patient Accounts Representative will review patient account status and note details, follow up with payor/payor portal and/or escalate to other departments based on escalatory need (i.e., medical records, payor documentation requests, etc.); all actions taken will be to adjudicate the account.

This position is 100% RemoteJob Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Review account details within the respective EMR
- Determine current status of account
- Determine best pathway for resolution
- Interact with payor portals for review of account progress with payor(s)
- If applicable, reach out to payors to determine account resolution
- Provide detailed notes within account outlining steps taken for account adjudication
- Escalate any items of awareness to direct leader for notable next steps
- Enter data from source documents into prescribed computer database, files and forms
- Respond to requests for information and access relevant files
- Comply with data integrity and security policies
- Other related task as assigned
- High school diploma
- One (1) year of patient account experience or extensive knowledge of patient financial services and account-based review
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Accurate keyboard skills and proven ability to enter data in multiple applications
- Knowledge of correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures
- Major payor and Governmental payor knowledge
- Problem solving on account review for optimal pathway to account adjudication
- Ability to follow HIPPA standards and comply with patient confidentiality policies
- Excellent verbal and communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of staff
- Ability to plan and organize time and assigned tasks
- Skilled at information collection and management
- Possess attention to detail with problem solving and decision-making skills
