- Increase the average index for each line by implementing and monitoring the genetic improvement program vs. target;
- insuring the voluntary replacement of breeding herds and bars studs
- reduce genetic lag through the allocation of replacements in the elite farms, in boar studs and customer farms
- Supervising the L18 breeding program
- inbreeding and mating patterns
- selection and replacement
- Insure for the optimum use of imported genetics by close coordination with farm management
- Responsible for accurate and consistent testing and selection program
- insuring consistency in the physical evaluation of breeding stock
- Training and career enhancement of subordinates, farm staff and self
- Prepares budgets and accountable for surpassing OKR
- Regularly report, analyze farm data to insure effectiveness of the genetic value creation program
- Desire to train and lead staff in improvement schemes for the benefit of GF and employees
- Maintain close communications and relationship with genetics supplier (PIC)
- Assist in trials and programs with other GF units as needed
Yêu Cầu Công Việc
- Experience in modern pig production, preferably at a production level management
- Interest in genetics
- Being a forward thinker; understanding the big picture, yet able to focus on details
- Strong organizational ability
- Statistical and math skilled very desirable
- BS degree in animal science, biology, genetics, statistics or appropriate work experience
- Strong communications skills
- Spoken English is required
